CEREEAC start-up unit manager installed

– The Head of the Start-up Unit of the Center for Energies Jean Pierre NDOUTOUM, was installed in Luanda by the President of the Commission of the Economic Community of Central African States, Amb. Gilberto Da Piedade VERISSIMO and Angolan Minister for Energy and Water His Excellency João Baptista Borges.

The ceremony took place at the headquarters of the Center for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency of Central Africa in Luanda, in the presence of Manuel QUINTINO, Secretary of State for Water at the Ministry of Energy and Water and Mrs. Marie Chantal Thérèse MFOULA EDJOMO, Commissioner in charge of the Territorial Planning and Infrastructure Department of the ECCAS Commission, and the Ambassador Guy Blaise NAMBO WEZETGabon’s Ambassador to Angola, senior officials from the Ministry of Energy and Water and the Ministry of External Relations, representatives of energy companies in the Republic of Angola and the Head of the Renewable and New Energy Department of the ECCAS Commission. The ceremony took place in four stages:

The first was devoted to the Reading of decision n°27/CEEAC/COM/PR/2023 of May 2, 2023 appointing the Head of the CEREEAC Start-up Unit and the Terms of Reference of the CEREEAC Start-up Unit by Mr Désiré Armand NDEMAZAGOA, Head of the Renewable and New Energies Department of the ECCAS Commission;

The participants then listened with great interest to the address by the President of the ECCAS Commission, Mrs MFOULA EDJOMO Marie Thérèse Chantal, Commissioner in charge of the Regional Planning and Infrastructures Department;

This was followed by a speech by the Minister of Energy and Water on the installation of the Head of the CEREEAC Start-up Unit, read by Mr Manuel QUINTINO, Secretary of State for Water in the Ministry of Energy and Water.

The ceremony was crowned by the installation of the new Head of the CEREEAC Start-up Unit by the Minister and the President of the Commission.

Désiré A. NDEMAZAGOA, Head of the Renewable and New Energies Department, and Jean Pierre NDOUTOUM, Head of the Start-up Unit of the Center for Renewable Energies and Energy Efficiency, have signed these minutes.

Representatives of the Minister of Energy and Water of the Republic of Angola and the President of the ECCAS Commission presented Mr. Jean Pierre NDOUTOUM with the Terms of Reference for the Start-up Unit of the Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency in Central Africa.

Mr Jean Pierre NDOUTOUM is appointed Head of the CEREEAC Start-up Unit, for a period of twelve (12) months, with effect from May 2, 2023. He is a Consultant, equivalent to the Head of Department of the ECCAS Commission. He is responsible for overseeing the technical, administrative and financial management of CEREEAC’s start-up phase.

The mission of the Start-up Unit is to initiate actions with a view to making CEREEAC operational. Its activities are supervised by the Head of the Spatial Planning and Infrastructure Department, who coordinates the activities of the UD/CEREEAC and its technical supervision by the Energy Department.

This installation ceremony marks the start of operations for the CEREEAC Start-up Unit.

After the family photo, a cocktail reception rounded off the official installation ceremony of the Head of the Start-up Unit of the Center for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency in Central Africa.
