The Communication Department in contact with the Heads of Departments

Libreville, January 21, 2021-In response to the call of the President of the Commission of the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS), Ambassador Gilberto Da Piédade Verissimo on the duty of each entity of the Commission to multiply initiatives in order to help strengthen the visibility of our institution both internally and externally, the Director of Communication, Public Relations and Protocol, Ms. Hedwirame Dos Santos, accompanied by some members of the management , went to meet with the Commissioner for the Promotion of Gender, Human and Social Development, Ms. Yvette Ngandu Kapinga.

On the menu of discussions, the methods of collecting, processing and disseminating information from the Department of Gender, Human and Social Development and the collaboration that must now exist between the Department of Communication, Public Relations and Protocol and the Department above cited.

The participants in the meeting made an overview of the issues related to the advantage of communicating regularly on the activities carried out internally and externally by the Department for the Promotion of Gender, Human and Social Development, on the one hand, and the measures to be taken in order to eradicate the obstacles and obstacles to the visibility of ECCAS, on the other hand.

The Commissioner introduced the expert in charge of communication, Mr. Augustin Habimana, who is working to raise awareness of the Redisse Project and the Department to which it is attached.

At the end of the discussions, the following emerged:

  • The Department for the Promotion of Gender, Human and Social Development and the Directorate of Communication must now work in harmony in order to better publicize the activities carried out by the above-mentioned Department;
  • The Department for the Promotion of Gender, Human and Social Development must designate a communication focal point whose role will be, among other things, to collect information related to the Department in order to forward them to the Communication Department which will process them and will ensure dissemination on all of its communication networks;
  • The Department for the Promotion of Gender, Human and Social Development will involve the Directorate of Communication in all activities that it deems necessary to be covered in the media and disseminated both internally and externally;
  • Cohesion, solidarity and sharing will remain the key words in the collaboration which will have to govern relations between all the departments and the Directorate of Communication, Public Relations and Protocol in order to further promote visibility of ECCAS.
